The secret Ed Sheeran uses (and you should steal for your landing pages)

This weekend, Ed Sheeran has come to Denmark to give four concerts in a row.
Four concerts. In a row.
This is only possible because he is so incredibly popular.
But here's what's really smart about Ed: When he's about to play a concert, he always makes a set list.
It's all systematic. He warms up the audience with the right songs, keeps the energy up throughout the concert, and then...
Boom!
The last song is always one of his biggest hits. Shape of You or Thinking Out Loud. That moment when the whole stadium sings along and everyone goes crazy.
That's exactly how your landing page should work
Think about it: your landing page is actually Ed Sheeran's last song.
All your other marketing activities? They're the warm-up:
- Your social media posts
- Your newsletter (like this one!)
- Your webinar
- Your paid ads
- Your podcast interviews
Everything that builds up to the big moment when your potential customers land on your page and think: ‘YES! I want this!’
But here's the problem...
I talk to marketers, coaches and consultants every day. And you know what they all say?
‘My landing pages just don't convert very well.’
They've spent money on Facebook ads. Created beautiful Instagram posts. Maybe even held webinars.
But when people finally land on their page...
No one buys. No one signs up. No one responds.
It's like Ed Sheeran building up to an amazing concert, and then ending up playing ‘Jingle Bells’ in July. Just... flat.
I saw the problem clearly
As a copywriter, I've written hundreds of landing pages. And I saw the same pattern over and over again.
My clients came to me frustrated: ‘I know people want what I'm offering, but my landing page just isn't working.’
They had tried writing them themselves.
They had Googled different templates.
But they were missing the system. The right structure. Ed Sheeran's set list approach.
Then came AI
When ChatGPT and other AI tools became available, I saw them as a natural assistant to my copywriting.
And boy, did it get interesting.
Suddenly, it had become easier to create a foundation for a landing page. AI could help get all the right elements in place from the start. And make the structure hang together.
But not just like that: ‘Hey ChatGPT, write a landing page for me.’
That doesn't work. You'll get some generic crap that sounds like it was written by a robot from 1995.
No, you have to be specific. You have to give the AI the right framework.
Your new landing page recipe
That's why I've created this AI prompt for you. It ensures that you include all the right elements. In the right order. Like Ed Sheeran's set list.
Copy this prompt and paste it into ChatGPT:
Write a landing page for my (write your product here)
Ask me one question at a time until you have all the answers, then write a draft landing page
Here are the questions:
- What specific problem does your target audience have?
- How can you describe their challenge in a way they can relate to?
- What are the specific consequences of the problem for your target audience?
- How can you show that you understand their frustrations?
- What is your story, and how can it build trust?
- Do you have previous results or customer feedback you can share?
- What are the three most important steps the customer needs to take to achieve success?
- How can you present your solution simply and clearly?
- How can you show your potential customers that it's worth the investment?
- Do you have data or concrete results to support your claim?
- What is your clear call to action?
- How can you make it easy and appealing for the customer to act now?
How to use it
- Copy the prompt and paste it into ChatGPT
- Write your product name where it says (write your product here)
- Answer the questions one at a time - the AI will ask them automatically
- Get your draft for a structured landing page
- Adjust and personalise as needed
It may take you 20-30 minutes. Instead of days of guesswork.
You get all the right elements in place: Problem identification, your story, social proof, clear call-to-action - all in the right order.
Like Ed Sheeran's set list. Built up to the grand finale.
Just remember one thing
The AI is only as good as the information you give it. So be specific when answering the questions.
Not: ‘My customers have marketing problems.’
But: ‘My customers spend hours writing Facebook posts that get 3 likes and no comments, and they feel invisible on social media even though they have a fantastic product.’
The more specific you are, the better your results will be.
Try it now
Go ahead and test it. You'll be surprised at how structured and focused your landing page becomes.
And if you use it, please write to me and tell me how it went. I love hearing about results!
Have a great weekend – and if you're going to an Ed Sheeran concert, think about the setlist method when Shape of You comes on 🎵
